SCAN TO SAVE

A real code, generated with the studio.

Why it works

A contact card people actually keep

One scan, saved contact

The phone offers to add the person to the address book. No typing, no lost paper cards.

The format is standard

vCard 3.0 is read by iOS, Android, Outlook and Google Contacts. The record stays useful outside this site.

No app and no server

The details are inside the pattern. There is no profile page to maintain or subscription to renew.

The guide

What is a vCard QR code?

A vCard is the electronic version of a business card. The QR code carries a small text file with fields such as N, FN, ORG, TITLE, TEL, EMAIL, URL and ADR. QRCanvas writes vCard 3.0 with CRLF line endings and escapes commas and semicolons.

Static codes are perfect for a business card, a badge or a conference poster. If the phone number changes, the printed code cannot be edited: generate a new one. Keep the card short, because every extra field makes the pattern denser and harder to print small.

  • Use the international prefix for the phone number.
  • Keep the record under about 300 characters for small prints.
  • Include a role and company; they make the saved contact useful.
  • Test with iOS and Android: previews differ.
  • Regenerate the code when a detail changes.

FAQ

vCard QR code questions

Short answers. If something is missing, write on GitHub.

Can I edit the contact after printing?

No. A static QR code contains the data itself. Generate a new code with the updated details and replace the printed piece.

Why does the scanner show only text?

Some scanner apps show the raw vCard before offering to save it. The built-in camera app and a modern contact scanner usually show an Add contact button.

Which fields should I include?

Name, one phone number, one email, company, role and website. An address is optional and makes the code denser.

Are my contact details private?

They are inside the code, not on a server. Anyone who scans the code can read them, so do not include private numbers on a public poster.
