SCAN TO JOIN

A real code, generated with the studio.

Why it works

A WiFi code that just works

No typing, no mistakes

Passwords with capitals, symbols and accents stay inside the code. Nobody copies them by hand or reads them out loud.

iPhone and Android

Both systems understand the standard WIFI payload. The camera app and most scanner apps offer to join the network.

Printed once, no server

The code is static: it does not depend on a redirect. Change the password and print a new one.

The guide

What goes inside a WiFi QR code?

A scanner reads a WIFI payload with four parts: T for security, S for the network name, P for the password and an optional H for hidden networks. QRCanvas escapes semicolons, commas, colons, backslashes and quotes, so a password with punctuation remains intact.

The code is static. It keeps working without a server or a subscription, but it cannot be edited after printing. For a café or a studio, create a separate guest network and rotate its password instead of sharing the main one.

  • Use WPA2 or WPA3; WEP only for old hardware.
  • Print at least 3–4 cm wide on a table tent or wall sign.
  • Test the printed code with both an iPhone and an Android phone.
  • Keep at least four modules of quiet zone around the code.
  • For public places, use a guest network with a changed password.

FAQ

WiFi QR code questions

Short answers. If something is missing, write on GitHub.

Does a WiFi QR code work without internet?

Yes. The network name and password are encoded in the pattern. The phone does not need a connection to read it; it only needs the camera and the network in range.

Can I hide the WiFi password?

No. Anyone who scans the code can read the payload with a normal scanner. Treat it as a public password: use a guest network, rotate it and never put the main network on a poster.

Which security type should I choose?

WPA/WPA2/WPA3 for modern routers. WEP only for legacy hardware. Choose open only for a network with no password and a captive portal.

Why does my phone not connect?

The most common causes are a hidden or enterprise network, an old scanner app, a password with unusual characters, or a code printed too small. Try Test scan, then a different phone.
